Metro cross-country meet marks the beginning of XC's championship season

Assignment objective: Cover an organized sporting event, exluding NCAA level events.

On Wednesday, 18 high schools from across the New River Valley clashed on Blacksburg High School's hilly 5000 meter cross county course. On the line were six total berths in the Virginia southwestern regional meet, scheduled for next week. Blacksburg High dominated the boys race, while the girls competition was won by neighboring Christiansburg High.
